On Thursday, Libya’s Ministry of Interior announced an agreement to send the two black boxes of the aircraft carrying Chief of Staff Mohamed Al-Haddad and his companions to Germany, in order to ensure a thorough and accurate technical analysis.
In a statement published on its official Facebook page, the Ministry said that the investigation committee into the aircraft crash involving the Chief of the General Staff and his companions continues its work in coordination with the Turkish authorities. It added that, in the interest of coordination with the Turkish security and judicial authorities, the head of the committee and its members met with the commander of the Turkish Gendarmerie, during which a number of measures taken regarding the incident were discussed.

The statement also confirmed that the meeting resulted in an agreement to send the aircraft’s black box and communications recorder to Germany to guarantee a precise technical analysis.
The Ministry further noted the Turkish Public Prosecutor’s readiness to provide Libyan authorities with all documents and camera recordings related to the incident, in addition to sending an official memorandum to the Libyan Public Prosecutor outlining the measures taken and approvals related to the joint investigations.
It was also stated that the Turkish authorities were provided with the results of DNA analyses conducted by the Criminal Investigation Department in Tripoli on some of the martyrs’ families, to ensure the completion of legal procedures and accurate comparison with the victims’ identities.
